Nancy O'Dell started her career in broadcasting by working as reporter for WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Later she was a morning-news anchor as well as a crime reporter at WCBD TV. While in Charleston O'Dell's reporting regarding the police's lenient approach towards DUI cases resulted in an State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to State authorities issuing a more stringent directive regarding DUI instances. Ms. O'Dell won the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell's experience in Charleston was the reason she joined as a co-anchor, reporter and anchor for NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Prior to becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as NBC's weekend co-anchor. As well as her role as anchor for Access Hollywood Ms. O'Dell is also a contributor to NBC News' Today and in addition to Dateline NBC.
